Influenza Vaccine
Southdale Pediatrics is pleased to inform you that we have flu vaccine available for the 2008-2009 influenza season. There is no shortage of the injected “flu shot” at this time. Flumist (the “nasal spray” flu vaccine) may become unavailable.
To assist you with making an appointment, we again have a fast and easy way for you to access our flu vaccine appointment schedule. Here you can view available times and select the one that is best for you. As you will see, there are many options for appointment times at all three of our office locations. We again have day hours for parents to bring younger children. We hope that you will find this helpful. As always, if you are in the clinic with a scheduled appointment, you can receive a flu vaccine at that time.
During your appointment, you will choose to receive either the “flu shot” or the “nasal spray” Flumist (if available). You will then sign an appropriate consent form. Please note that Flumist is not used for children under two years of age or for those who have a tendency for wheezing episodes. Other restrictions for both vaccines are reviewed on the consent form.
If you used our online scheduling system last year, you may use the same Login Name and Password as last year. If you have forgotten this information, you may click on the “Forgot Login Name or Password?” link on the online scheduling site to receive a reminder.
Online scheduling is currently only available for flu vaccines. If you wish to schedule an appointment for any other vaccine please call our future appointments number.
If you are an established patient of Southdale Pediatrics, please click on the button at the bottom of this page and a new window will open accessing our online scheduling site.
Guidelines for use of the online scheduling site:
- You must be an established patient of Southdale Pediatrics.
- If this is your first time using the site, your initial step will be to scroll down to the "Not Registered Yet?" section. There you will find a link to the "Terms and Conditions of Usage." Once you have read and agreed to these terms, click the "I Agree" box. This will reload the page so that you may now click the "Register" button.
- You will be asked to register each patient by their first and last name, date of birth, and gender.
- Once identified by our system as a registered patient, you will be asked to create a Login Name and Password. This Login Name and Password can be used for scheduling flu vaccines for all children registered in our system as part of your family.
- After initially registering as described above, you will need to sign in again with your newly created Login Name and Password. You may then proceed as instructed by the site to schedule your flu vaccination appointment.
- You may later cancel or change your appointment time by logging in to this site again.
