Mask Exemption Letters
Mask Exemption Letters
It is Southdale Pediatrics’ policy that we will not write mask exemption letters for our patients.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends universal masking because a significant percentage of children are not yet able to be vaccinated. Masking has been proven to reduce the transmission of COVID and protects those who are unvaccinated. We encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated!
Patients with asthma, both young and old, are not at risk for trouble breathing from wearing a mask. The CDC states that children under the age of 2 should not wear a mask, nor persons who are unable to remove a mask on their own, or children with special behavioral or developmental disabilities.
Thank you for your understanding.
