What’s Covered During My Child’s Well Check?
Most insurances will cover the following:
- Measurements of height, weight, body mass index and blood pressure
- History and Physical Exam
- Developmental and Behavioral screenings
- Counseling regarding Nutrition, Obesity, Drug use and sexually transmitted infections
- Immunizations
- Vision and Hearing screening (these are not always covered by insurance plans)
- Sexually Transmitted Disease screening (not always covered by insurance plans)
Topics/concerns outside of the scope of those covered during a well-child exam will be charged separately as an office visit and may incur a co-pay. Alternately, you may be asked to make a separate appointment to discuss additional concerns. Please ask your physician prior to the appointment if you have concerns with this.
These may include:
- Medication follow up (Birth Control, ADHD, Mental Health)
- Acute illness
- Chronic Issue or Pain
- Mental Health Concerns (Depression, Anxiety, etc.)
- Behavior Concerns
- Developmental or ADHD concerns
- Menstrual concerns
- Wart removal
- Injury
